New to Blogging? Here is How to Get Started!

I am sure you have seen a bunch of blogs on Google on different topics when you were researching something you wanted to get an answer to your question.

There are many ways they use to monetize their blogs, but if you are a beginner, how and where do you start?

First of all, in order to be able to make money with a blog, obviously, you need to create one and start developing it.

I know what you are thinking right now, that it is hard and difficult and time-consuming and you know what?

I will tell you the truth: yes, it is difficult, but only in the early stages when you are learning how to set up everything the right way.

If you stick to the process, it’ll start to become easier and easier every day.

All of the blogs out there have started one day the same way and the reason why they are earning BIG money today is that once they started, they continued to work and grow.

If you want to start a blog and make money with it, but don’t know how to do it the right way, I can show you a proven system that has taught me everything I know today.

Once you have your blog set up and you actually have your own content on your blog, here is where the fun part begins!

It’s time to explore those methods that many successful bloggers use to monetize their blogs.

Here are the things that you can do to start earning money from your blog:

#1. Affiliate Marketing

This is my #1 recommended method which I love and personally use to make money from my blogs. It is simple and doesn’t require you to have your own products to make money.

In this way, you can use other people’s products and recommend them to your audience, and when someone buys through your links, you will earn a portion of that sale, at any extra cost for the customer.

The cool thing here is that you are not only making money but at the same time helping people to solve their problems and issues. You want to make sure to choose the right and good products that will actually help your audience with their situations.

You can go vice versa, and talk about products that are not very good and then recommend good alternatives to your audience.

Always try to keep in mind that you are more likely to HELP people rather than SELL them. If you can fix this approach in your mind, you are guaranteed to SUCCESS.

Next, you are going to use affiliate programs in order to be able to grab your own individual affiliate links. Now, not all of the affiliate programs out there accept newbies into their programs.

Here are a few affiliate programs that I recommend for beginners:

Amazon Associates Affiliate Program

It is the program that I have personally started in affiliate marketing and it’s actually quite easy to make money with Amazon Affiliate program simply because it’s global and all people around the world know, trust and buy from Amazon.

There are so many products on Amazon’s online store and you can find there both physical and digital products.

Amazon pays up to 10% in affiliate commissions, depending on what niche you are in.

You can look at their commission structure in the above image:

The downside of the Amazon Associates Affiliate Program is that it offers only 24-hour cookies, but the cool thing is that you get credit for any sale your visitor makes, regardless of the fact it was the link you have placed into your website or any other product on Amazon.

This means that if he/she bought a different product from what you have listed on your website, you still are going to be paid for that sale. How cool is this?

It’s FREE to get started and all you have to have is your website in place and actually, Amazon accepts literally anyone into their Program.

However, there is still a qualifying process to go through which means that you are going to need to make at least 3 sales within 6 months period in order to be officially accepted into their Affiliate program.

If for any reason you haven’t met that requirement, your account will be closed and if you are not a quitter, you are going to need to create another account and replace all of your affiliate links with new ones.

ClickBank

ClickBank is another great platform that allows new and fresh affiliate marketers into their affiliate program.

All you want to do is to create an account on their platform, which is FREE, learn how to grab your affiliate link and start promoting it through your website, social media accounts, etc.

What you will find in Clickbank Marketplace is digital products and these are easy to sell because they go directly to the customer’s email.

You can be in any niche you like and find products on Clickbank to promote to your audience because of Clickbank Marketplace is HUGE.

Take a look at the image below to see how many categories it has:

There are also many other affiliate programs and you can easily find them on Google bu typing YOUR NICHE + affiliate programs.

For example, if your niche is baby strollers, you type Baby Strollers + affiliate programs and you will be able to find some good affiliate programs to join.

Keep in mind though that some of them will want to see your website first (and what they are actually looking for is quality content that HELPS people) before accepting you into their affiliate program.

So, make sure to spend some time to develop your website in order to be accepted right away.

I know that a lot of people get scared when they hear they need to build a website, I was afraid also, honestly.

But, in fact, it is not that hard at all, and in this day and age, you don’t need any coding knowledge.

It’s enough to choose a web hosting service provider, a domain name for your website, and you are good to go!

Here is a list of other affiliate programs and networks to consider:

  • Share a Sale
  • Commission Junction
  • Warrior Plus
  • JVZoo
  • Awin

#2. Place Ads on Your WebsiteHow to Make Money By Blogging for Beginners - Ads

This is a great way to start monetizing your blog, even if you are a beginner.

In order to be able to do this, you are going to use Google Adsense or any other pay-per-click affiliate program, like Chitika, Infolinks, Media.net, etc.

By means of these pay-per-click affiliate programs, you will be able to display ads on your website and every time your visitors click on those ads, you are going to get paid.

The more visitors your website gets every day, the more money you make.

There is a good and bad way of doing this and I have seen a lot of websites out there that overdo ads which makes it almost impossible to read the content they have on their websites.

This is definitely not the way you want to do and make sure to learn how to do this properly.

I am sure you want to have a website that gets a lot of visitors and even more than that, loyal customers that come back to your website frequently for your advice and solution to the problems they might have.

That is why you want to develop a website that offers a great user experience and your visitors like to spend their time on your website reading your content.

If you make a great user experience your primary focus, you will end up making money from both ads and affiliate links.

#3. Guest PostsHow to Make Money By Blogging for Beginners - Guest Posts

Once your website gets traction on the internet and starts getting a lot of visitors every day, you can start allowing guest posts on your website and earn money this way.

If you don’t know what a guest post is, let me explain to you in just a few words.

Guest posts are articles created by other bloggers that want by means of these guest posts to take advantage of your audience and attract visitors to their own websites.

Of course, it has to pass some time since the inception of your website so it has a lot of visitors.

What you want to pay attention to in the first place is the quality of the guest posts.

We all know that Google and other search engines like Bing and Yahoo love high-quality content and if guest posts are simply copied from another website it will affect your rankings which is, I am sure, the last thing you want.

So make sure to check the quality of the articles before they are even published on your website.

Here are some great tools you can use to check out if the article is 100% unique:

#4. Freelance WritingHow to Make Money By Blogging for Beginners - Freelance Writer

If you like to write and want to offer your services to other businesses out there, this is another great way to make money online.

In order to be able to do that, you will want to go to the websites that accept freelancers to register and earn their money through these websites.

Here is a list of freelancer websites you can use:

  • Freelancer.com
  • Workana.com
  • UpWork.com
  • PeoplePerHour.com
  • Guru.com
  • Etc.

In fact, it’s not difficult to find and register with these websites and there are even more websites out there than I have listed here.

Once you did that, you can set up your account and start looking for a writing job available there. You can also post your own job proposal.

Keep in mind though, that if you are just starting out, there will not be many job options from you right from the beginning because most of the employers first check out your profile and your experience before hiring you.

So, if you want to make money this way, be patient in the beginning and start building out your profile and partnerships within these platforms.

Having your own website will help you a lot to be a successful freelance writer because it will serve as your strong asset that you can show to your future employers and they can actually check out your work and estimate your writing skills.

#5. Write Your Own eBookHow to Make Money By Blogging for Beginners - Write Your Own eBook

Obviously, this method has also to do with writing.

If you have a topic that you are passionate about and have enough expertise and knowledge you would like to share with people, it’s time for you to write your own eBook and sell it.

It is not difficult at all to be a successful self-publisher nowadays as it used to be some time ago when we haven’t such great opportunities that are open to us in this age of informational technology.

And you don’t even need fancy tools to be able to write, publish and sell your eBook.

All you need to do is use Google Docs for writing your eBook, Canva.com to create your eBook custom cover.

If you wonder where you can sell your eBook, here are a few platforms that will help you to do that:

  • Amazon Kindle
  • Payhip.com
  • Fiverr.com
  • Selz.com
  • Feiyr.com
  • Blurb.com
  • Google Play
  • Your Own Website

Because it’s your own product, you can set up your own price for your eBook and it’s only up to you how much you want to charge for your intellectual property.

At the same time, I would suggest not going crazy and set up a reasonable price according to the value you offer in your eBook.

Even if it is a $5 or $10 eBook if you manage to sell it over and over again, it will make you a good income.

And take note here, you are going to get paid multiple times for the work you have done just once. How wonderful is that?

#6. Create Your Own Digital Course

This is another great method to make money by sharing with people your knowledge and expertise on any topic you like, just as in the case of writing your own Ebook.

How to Make Money by Blogging for Beginners - Digital Courses

The only difference here is that you are going to create a digital course using platforms that were designed specifically for this purpose.

Here are some of them that you can check out:

  • Teachable.com
  • Udemy.com
  • Thinkific.com
  • LearnWorlds.com
  • Podia.com
  • Ruzuku.com
  • Click4Course

Online education gets more and more popular nowadays due to the comfort and quality it delivers.

Students don’t have to spend time traveling back and forth to the college/university and are able to actually learn from the comfort of their homes or whatever they choose to be in the world while traveling.

There are so many people in the world that actually are creating and selling their courses through the above-mentioned platforms or their websites.

There is NO way for you to not be able to do the same if you want to.

#7. Coaching & ConsultingHow to Make Money Online by Blogging for Beginners - Become a Coach

Again, if you feel that you are acknowledged enough on a specific topic and if you like working with people one-on-one, you can become a coach in that specific area of knowledge and consult people for the exchange of payment.

Having your own website will help you a lot to find your first clients as this is the place where you will be inviting them to visit in order to be able to get to know you better.

In order to be a successful coach and consultant, you will need to first establish TRUST with people and make them believe you are going to provide them valuable and helpful advice.

Concluding Thoughts
