Hello, everyone, and welcome to my ACN MLM Review.
ACN is a company that offers the services that people are already using and spending money on every day, including phone service, wireless, natural gas and electricity, merchant services, high-speed Internet, TV, home security and automation, and more.
Even Mr. Trump was involved in the promotion of this company, making millions of dollars this way.
So why not taking advantage of this business opportunity and hopefully, make some good money?
All you have to do is convince people to switch their current operators off and buy services from ACN.
But before even deciding to start off, it helps a lot to do a little bit of research of what you’re about to get yourself into. I have already done extensive research about ACN so you don’t have to!
Everything you want to know about this company, I have gathered in one single piece of the post. So you don’t need to endlessly browse the internet trying to get all the pieces of the puzzle together.
Without further ado, let’s get right into the facts right now!

What is ACN?
Based in Concord, North Carolina, USA, The American Communications Network, more commonly known as ACN, is a multi-level marketing company that is selling utility contracts, such as the Internet, wireless, satellite TV, telephone services, as well as energy services.
They do so mainly via independent sales agents who work on a commission basis.
ACN partners with some of the world’s largest telecommunications companies, so ACN themselves only appear to act as the middleman and do not provide the services themselves.
Since its inception in 1993, the company has managed to extend to 26 countries around the world.
Who is the Founder?
ACN was founded by a group of people formed by Robert Stevanovski, Greg Provenzano, and twin brothers Tony and Mike Cupisz.
Their story is pretty similar to the founders of other MLMs. Prior to creating ACN, the four entrepreneurs were involved in other direct selling companies.
But, for various reasons, they were dissatisfied with the companies and business opportunities they’ve been involved in.
This inevitably led them to establish a company of their own where they could organize all things the way they wanted and considered appropriate.
What is ACN’s Financial Situation?
ACN is a company that has seen tremendous growth in the past.
But it seems that, nowadays, the company is being through not the best moments of its operation.
As seen in the picture below, in 2016, they had a drastic decline in revenue by 71 million, compared to 2015. Then, ACN’s revenue stagnated.
Their income wasn’t growing at all, all the way up to 2019, where again, they have been trough another decline, by 50 million.
It’s clear that something is not going very well for ACN these days.
Still, this is not the worst situation in the MLM industry. The worst I’ve seen is at Zija International MLM.
What Are ACN Products?
ACN is an MLM that sells services and not products.
Given the nature of these services, I believe that they may vary depending on the country of operation but here’s an overall list of services they offer:
- Landline telephone service (local and long-distance)
- Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)
- High-speed Internet
- Satellite Television
- Cellular Phone Services
- Home Security Services
ACN offers these services through its own mobile virtual network operator.
How Much Does it Cost to Join ACN?
In order to become an ACN Independent Business Owner (IBO), you’ll need to sign a corresponding agreement with ACN and pay a start-up fee of $199, which renews every year for $49.
Additionally, there’s a $25 monthly fee for the so-called “Business Support”.
How to Make Money With ACN?
According to ACN’s Compensation Plan, there are four ways for you to make money with ACN:
#1. Commissions based on your personal customer’s usage of ACN’s services.
#2. Commissions based on your downline’s customer’s usage of ACN’s services.
#3. Bonuses based on your personal customer acquisition (recruiting IBOs).
#4. Bonuses based on your downline’s personal customer acquisition (recruiting IBOs).
ACN emphasizes that “Compensation is earned only when customers are acquired”.
However, I believe even a child would understand that ACN is also rewarding its IBOs for recruiting other IBOs into the system.
If you like a video-based content more, here’s a breakdown of the ACN’s business opportunity:
Does ACN Allow You to Use the Internet to Build Your Business?
Yes, they do this since 2011 when they first launched their official online store program.
Remember I have told you that as an ACN IBO you’ll need to pay monthly a $25 Business Support Fee?
Well, this fee includes the costs of your own ACN website. If people hopefully buy ACN services through your website, that sale will be assigned to you.
While this is a complimentary thing, in essence, I urge you to not get excited about your own ACN website right away.
Instead, I challenge you to think about it this way: there already were many people who have signed up as IBOs before you and got their “personal” ACN websites.
But really, to what extent are these websites personal? I mean, for $25 a month, I really doubt they’ll create a website for each and every one of their reps, individually.
Most probably, what you’ll get is an ACN replicated website, which in most cases, visually looks just the same as replicated websites of other reps.
These are clone websites if you wish. The only thing that is different in these websites is a little snippet of code that indicates that this is your website, and not John Smith’s, for example.
So, the next question is, how your website is going to stand out from the crowd of many same-looking websites of other reps?
How your website is going to attract visitors and potential buyers? Will it do this on its own or should you invest massive actions and hundreds of dollars to promote it?
You better have answers to these questions before you sign up for this ACN business opportunity so that you rest assured that you know what you are doing.
Is ACN Legitimate?
There were instances when ACN was called a scam or pyramid scheme.
Of course, ACN denied these accusations, saying that those people who make such claims don’t fully understand the way how ACN operates.
ACN is proud of the fact that it’s a member of the Direct Selling Association and receives an A+ BBB (Better Business Bureau) rating.
It’s indeed a legitimate business since they are offering a service for sale.
However, the recruitment aspect of their business reasonably raises questions.
According to a study that was published in 2008 in “McGeorge Law Review”, the overwhelming part of ACN’s IBO income is coming from the customer acquisition bonuses rather than from sales of internet services.
How Much Money Can You Make With ACN?
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find an ACN Income Disclosure Statement so we can see how much money actual ACN IBOs are making, on average.
If their business opportunity was so great, why they aren’t making this information publicly available?
So that everybody could see the income potential here.
I assume they simply don’t want you and me to know the truth simply because the reality is that so few people are making decent money with ACN.
The only statement I found about earning is actually a disclaimer that reads as follow:
Well, kudos to them for stating clear at least these things. But the lack of an annual income disclosure document from ACN raises another red flag for me.
In other words, you’re investing your time and money with ACN but you never know how much money are you going to make, if at all.
The Good and The Bad
#1. Relatively Low Start-up Costs
Do you think $224 is a lot to start your own MLM business?
#2. No Monthly Purchases To Make
A lot of the MLMs require their business representatives to buy products every month, regardless if they need these products or not.
Luckily, this is not the case at ACN.
There’s no more spending for you to make, apart from your start-up fee, and the monthly Business Support fee I have mentioned earlier in this post.
#3. Sell Things People are Already Using
Utilities, like gas, electricity, internet, phone service – every one of us is using these things in our daily lives and paying the bills for.
People are already spending money on these things so it shouldn’t be an issue to sell ACN services.
All you need to do is to show people why ACN is better and make them switch their current providers.
#1. Beware of Customer Complaints
ACN receives a good deal of customer complaints. On BBB alone, there are 69 complaints submitted in the last 3 years.
Although, this is not that much as in the case of Monat business.
Out of those 69 complaints, only 26 were closed in the last 12 months, which means that they could have worked better on resolving the issues people are having with them.
The majority of complaints are related to their billing/collections as well as the customer service.
Some of the other ACN customer reviews suggest that ACN services are overpriced and of lower quality.
Others are even claiming that ACN is a scam.
#2. No Income Disclosure Statement
It’s a pity that they don’t make this information publicly available.
We don’t know how much money actual ACN reps are making, on average, not to mention, on every level/rank.
#3. Beware of Lawsuits Around ACN
Lawsuits are already a common thing in the MLM industry. Unfortunately, ACN couldn’t avoid the reputation of being sued in a court.
Thus, in 2010, the Montana Commissioner of Securities and Insurance Monica Lindeen announced the issuance of a Cease and Desist Order and Notice of Proposed Agency Action against ACN, Inc. and several of its founders for allegedly operating a pyramid scheme.
Later on, the Commissioner determined that the actions giving rise to the initial concerns were not part of the ACN business model, but instead were isolated instances taking place by certain ACN’s independent representatives in Montana.
To settle this issue, ACN agreed to implement additional training with its independent representatives to assist them in better understanding their responsibilities as ACN independent representatives.
This wasn’t the only case where ACN was accused of being a pyramid scheme. In 2005, the Australian courts found ACN is a pyramid selling scheme. I’m not sure how they changed their structure since this ruling but the fact is that ACN is still operating in Australia.
Another case is a more recent one and it concerns the involvement of Mr. Trump and his children in the promotional campaigns in favor of ACN.
The Trumps are accused of not having disclosed that they were being paid by ACN when they recommended ACN as a good investment.
As part of the discovery process, the Trumps were ordered to provide information from Trump Organization business records for 15 years back to 2005.
My Final Opinion About ACN MLM + A Better Alternative
Based on the things I have explained in this post, I can’t recommend ACN as a good business opportunity.
Their business model is quite difficult to implement unless you’re an experienced salesperson who knows what he is doing.
There’s a lot of effort to put in, and you don’t even know what’s the earning potential here.
It’s a proven path to passive income, without having to convince your friends and family to join your business opportunity.
This is what I do and I simply love it for so many things! If you’d like to do the same but don’t know where to start, don’t worry as you have me right by your side ready to help you.
This entire website was created with you in mind to help you learn how to make passive income online and escape the 9 to 5 job if this is what you are eventually looking for.
To be honest, it’s indeed difficult to figure it all out on your own, and you don’t have to!
There’s an awesome affiliate marketing training program I have followed where I learned everything I know today about online business.
Inside, you’ll find everything you need to build a profitable affiliate marketing business: 24/7 support from affiliate marketing veterans, a keyword research tool, an affiliate program research tool, and even website hosting is included.
And did I mentioned that it’s FREE to join?!
